Resource Savvy

Our resources on Earth are scarce. We therefore have to use them wisely. Our hangers are based on natural resource and made with the greatest care and thought for environmental sustainability.

Resource effectiveness

Clothing hangers are up there among the worlds most invisible products, but they are used everywhere, everyday:

  • in clothing retail stores
  • for transporting garments from factory to store
  • in boutiques
  • in supermarkets
  • in hotels
  • in homes and offices
  • at events
  • by dry-cleaners

As a result, it’s estimated that more than 10 billion hangers are manufactured each year globally. However, only a fraction of them get recycled. This means that billions of hangers end up in landfill or are incinerated every year. Even stores with re-use/recycle schemes for plastic hangers find it difficult to capture most of the hangers.

Let’s do something about it!

NORMN Hangers are a resource saver to gain environmental sustainability

The cleverness of NORMN Hangers lies in the fact that they utilize standard, paper recycling schemes, which are already in place. So there is no need for complex, expensive systems to be set up. Paper is one of the most recycled products in the world and NORMN Hangers slot perfectly into these existing, widely accepted global schemes.

Recycled Solid Board is a resource minimizer

NORMN Hangers are made from 100% recycled paperboard (post-consumer waste and mill broke) or from a blend of FSC/PEFC certified pulp, if requested. We call it Solid Board.

Our manufacturer Smurfit Kappa Group operates a European recycled paper mill system, which is Chain of Custody certified.

Inks from a natural resource

The printing process uses non-mineral, oil-based inks, such as soya and linseed oil. Therefore, you get inks that are neither toxic, harmful nor corrosive, meaning they’re not classified as an irritant or as highly inflammable.
Heavy metals like lead, arsenic, cadmium, selenium, antimony, mercury, or chrome (VI) are also not constituents of these inks.

So get designing!
